About Mary Faulkner
Graduating law school in 1980, Mary started her practice with a focus on Immigration Law. In 1985, she became an Assistant District Attorney in Atoka, and in 1990 moved to Durant where she continues to practice law today.
As her experience and reputation in the community grew, Mary has gravitated away from criminal cases to all aspects of family law. She has augmented her legal education by taking several family law mediation classes, and she has developed a penchant for helping people to work through family law issues in a civil manner with an end goal of maintaining long term relationships.
Mary has been very active in the development of both the local Drug Court and Community Sentencing programs, and continues to serve on both boards as a team member. Her goal is to see people get a second chance and to rejoin society as independent and productive individuals.
Most recently, Mary has begun to take on a few personal injury cases and averages about 5 a year, usually in conjunction with another lawyer. In 1992, she was hired as Municipal Judge in Kingston, and in 2004 as Municipal Judge in Hugo. These jobs require bi-monthly court appearances, and give her the opportunity to interact with people in different ways. Throughout her career, Mary continues to grow and develop her legal skills to increase her overall value to her clients.
